What is Harshshat Mata ?

right next to the step well I wrote about in my last post lays Harshshat Mata temple,
also built by king Chandra of Nikhumba Rajputs...
or as we say in swedish  Rajputterna...sounds så gulligt....
it wasn't until recently that the step well was found attractive by tourist so I guess it was the
same for the temple....but here no big attempts have been made to restore it..
beautiful pieces are found scattered around the temple and it looks like someone has tried to
puzzle it back together...we figured it might be the villagers themselves..
so parts of it actually looks like a puzzle with the wrong pieces put together
but somehow that's just India

the carvings where incredible...

they kind of look like

blocks for block printing....don't they ?

other carvings where just amazing for other reasons...
like this strong one holding up the whole temple !

this parrot found the right spot.....and I managed to get a picture of it....
it's the bell you "cling" when you enter the temple....
all temples..

these faces I found most fascinating....seems like I have seen them elsewhere...

just don't know where in the world....
guess I need to do some reading

walking back to the car through the village....
the market with all the neatly displayed vegetables and fruits...
displaying fruit and veggies is an art in itself and they sure master it here

as always ....men in groups sitting around doing ???

got to end the post with a typical Rajasthan dressed woman...
and we, Kathy and I where off to new adventures....
you are so welcome to join us in the rest of our adventure
all you have to do is to check the blog every day
